Record Enrollment at MTSU

Early fall 2008 semester numbers indicate Middle Tennessee State University once again is headed for a record enrollment. Totals collected from the Office of Records showed 23,771 students registered for classes as of August 27th. With the campus only 20 miles from Woodbury, MTSU is often the college of choice for local students. Woodbury Police Setup Sobriety Road Blocks

Millie Webb was burned over 70 percent of her body and her 4-year-old daughter was killed, all at the hands of a drunken driver 37 years ago. Her 19-month-old nephew also died that day when the driver slammed into the rear of the family's car. "I want other families to be spared our pain," said Webb, former national president of Mothers Against Drunk Driving. No Four-Lane to McMinnville: Could it be Good News?

The much anticipated four-lane highway connecting Woodbury to McMinnville will not become a reality anytime in the near future, according to the Tennessee Department of Transportation. A lack of Federal funding has caused the Department to significantly shorten the length of the highway and it will not even come close to reaching Woodbury.
