Cannon County Network

Enjoying and Sharing Life in Rural Tennessee

Hi! I am a local MTSU student who has been diligently working a project to locate, map, and research old country stores. If you are interested in hearing some of our work (my class & professor Dr. Doug Heffington) then tune in to FM 89.5 on April 19th at 10am. A radio show will be airing voicing our research and the importance of this project. These old stores have died out and most of them sit lone on the road. Our goal is to preserve the memory of these stores before the people that remember them leave this earth. If you, your family, or your friends know about any country stores/old trading posts located in Cannon County I would LOVE to talk to you! Please e-mail me at marylanepoe@gmail.com with the subject line Cannon Co. Country Stores. This is a great historical preservation project!

Mary this sounds like a neat project. A good cover photo for your project could be the old Connley store on Burt.
